Leica BLK2GO PULSE: first-person scanning for quick floor plans

Leica Geosystems announced the BLK2GO PULSE on 10 October 2023 with shipping planned for early 2024. It takes the original BLK2GO handheld and adds two time-of-flight sensors and a phone-first workflow: you see the coloured point cloud build on the screen as you walk.

What it is for

This is not a survey scanner. Its 10 m range and ±20 mm class accuracy are aimed at the jobs that used to be done with a tape measure and a sketch: floor plans, area take-offs, and quick as-is captures for designers and property managers.

• Live cloud on the phone, so you know the capture is complete before leaving.
• Direct export to floor-plan and CAD tools with no office processing step.
• Grab-and-go size, small enough to carry alongside a Matterport camera on every visit.

Where it lands in our services

For VirtualSpace, the PULSE is the quickest route to a Space Plan deliverable on small commercial and residential jobs, and a useful cross-check on Matterport's own floor plans in rooms with mirrors or glass. When a client needs a BIM model or centimetre accuracy across a whole floor, we still bring a NavVis or FARO unit.
